Miele Pisces S5281 Canister Vacuum
I bought this on Amazon from Mr. Vacuum and Ms. Sew to repay my Hoover wind tunnel. I have had two Hoover wind tunnels that have lasted an average of 3-4 years. Before that I had a Eureka vacumn cleaner.
I bought this vacuum based on the scrutiny of others and the expected life of this vacuum cleaner. I haven't had much opportunity to use the vacuum so far, but I noticed a big advantage is the noise level is much quieter than any of my previous vacuum cleaners. The wand can be adjusted which is a talented plus. My husband made the comment that after I am done cleaning the house the air does not smell like dust. I also like the abundant levels to set the suction power and the retractable cord.
I will update this rating as I use the various features.

MORE Costly, BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY!
We mental activity long and hard before spending this much money for a vacuum. But, the rave reviews on MANY websites inexorably convinced us to buy the Miele S5281 Pisces vacuum. We had gone through several other vacuums, costing $300-$400 each, all of which met with a allegedly early demise. We are definitely not hard on vacuums and probably don't run them often enough!
The Miele vacuum is everything we thought it would be and more. It is about 1/2 the tonnage of our old vacuum and the design of the wheels make it VERY easy to pull around. The non-electric rug brush works very well, without pulling threads out of our rugs (like our old vacuum did). The parquet woman floor brush is a delight to use and allows access to many small areas we were unable to reach with our old vacuum. Our whole-quarters vacuuming time has been reduced about 30% by not having to continually change to small brushes for reaching those areas.
But, the Excellent thing about the Miele is how VERY quit it is. We used to have to wear hearing protection with our other vacuum. The Miele is VERY placid, even on its highest suction setting and just a whisper on the lowest setting.
Yes, the Miele path of vacuums is expensive. But, as with most things, you get what you pay for. They have well thought out designs and are built to last. If your budget will allow, you will NOT regret purchasing one of their vacuums.

I'm loving it!
Simply received the twist. It works great. It picks up the debris nicely and it works well as you go from whip to carpet. It's a little heavier than I expected and a little louder because of the powerful motor. I characterize as it's relatively quiet compared to the central vacuum I used in the past as well. I would recommend this vacuum to others. Reliable construction, easy to twist and get around all the furniture.

An ingenuous review from a Grandmother:)
I virtuous purchased the Miele Twist and I know how these reviews are important to me, so I hope that I can help someone esle who is in view of the Miele S7 series (any model).
I researched the motors as I was told by the salesperson that the "Twist" has a cheaper motor than the Salsa, etc. This is not unswerving. They all have the same motor - look at Miele's website. The $100 difference is the filter and headlight. You can acquiring the better filter and put it in the Twist and have the same machine without the light.
I debated on purchasing off of the web, so I could save the ready. In my research I found that Authorized Dealers DO NOT honor the warranty if purchased from the web!!! So buyer be on one's guard. Upon purchasing and giving it a test run, when I went to use the hose attachment it came out of the machine before I could even bend it to full length, which is really NOT very far, if you like to vac high places - forget it. The hose attachment is much like a dryer send.
Bottom line:
The Miele Twist is VERY easy to vac with and because it is on a petite side it can get to many little places and the swivel later is wonderful. It vacuums well, however, going over the same area with my old Riccar, I could hear it picking up debris that apparently the Miele missed. I deem this machine is good, however, I think there are others that might be better for the price. I rate it a 3 star.

Je sais quoi through and through.
After having gone through an Oreck, a Hoover and a Dyson, I in the end have a vacuum cleaner that has quality construction and controls. I love the "twist" part, it makes getting into corners very moderate. The hose is very easy to use (especially in comparison to the Dyson).
I am a little old lady with a very bad back. I have no problem using my Miele. It does a eximious job on getting up pet hair and in this house a vacuum cleaner has to handle pet hair from two cats and two dogs. I really enjoy vacuuming with my "Twist", my house has not been this clean in years.

So far so best, its easy to push, not too heavy. Seems to do a great job on carpet and hardwood floors. I like the hose extra and the ease of switching to that use. Also very happy how it was shipped and delivered within the week

Miele royal down upright
I purchased this Miele from a neighbourhood distributor a couple of weeks ago and love it. There are several options available for selection based on what you would like to unpolluted. It has a switch button for carpets, drapes, hardwood floors, etc. It pick ups very well. Prior to purchasing this Miele I intention it was a chore to vacuum but now I use it nearly everyday!

very retired German product
We ordered this vacuum after seeing one a man had that impressed us with how very QUIET it was when operating. It is pricey, but is like a BMW of vacuums with high quality German engineering. You can almost have a chin-wag while vacuuming, it is that quiet. Previous other brands have been soooo noisy that one risked hearing flaw if ear protection wasn't worn, this machine is a huge relief.

Skilled BUT
I can twig why people loves these machines. They are so quiet, and they are light. However, there are a couple of design flaws that slog down their usefulness, especially when you factor in the high price:
1) The SEB 213 powerbrush that comes with this mock-up works awkwardly with carpets. We have a couple of short-piled ones, and it's a push to use the powerbrush. I can do it, but don't signally like it. If we had high-pile carpets, I doubt we could use this vacuum.
2)Furthermore, this powerbrush is undoubtedly difficult to remove and reassemble. The big problem lies in the connector cord that plugs into the employ.It's a struggle to get it out and even harder to get it back in. If you remove the head to suck up dirt along the edges, you have to go through this struggle a lot.
We have found that we no longer use the powerbrush at all. We reasonable use the "floorbrush" on both carpet and bare floors. While it is even a bit harder to use on our carpets than the powerbrush, the struggle to braze/detach the powerbrush makes it worthwhile to stick to the plain brush.
For anyone with a lot of carpets, this is not the vacuum to get. For someone like us with mostly severe floors, I would NOT get this model. I think were I to do it all over again, I'd get the Miele model 4210 Carina which comes with a simpler level brush and save about $150. If you want HEPA filters, there's the 4210 Sirius for a bit more pelf. Or look up Consumer Reports' recommended Sears model and get one of those.

Squander The Extra Money!
I've had my Miele vac for several years now and am almost absolutely satisfied with it. Great power -- it really DOES clean very effectively, is much quieter than most vacuums, has outstanding accessories, a very powerful powerhead for carpet cleaning, and it's easy to use. To top it all off, the Miele is downright easy on the eyes!
The filters are great, it's much cleaner internally than most vacs, and the vacuum cleaner bags can be removed without spewing dust all around. Entirely the only drawbacks I find with this cleaner are its lack of a power switch on the metal wand and awkward right side up storage. If you buy the next level up, I think even those flaws are absent, but I didn't have the money to buy the more expensive image at the time. Other than that, I would buy it again tomorrow. It's a terrific cleaner and a whole lot better than any other cleaner I've ever owned (that would be about ten different cleaners over the years). Well advantage the money.

Fair cleaner but fragile plastic parts.
The championship says it all. I've had this product for a couple of years and have had to get the plastic "neck" that attaches the wand to the astonish head twice already. However, it does very well on tough carpets (dark blue with white persian cat curls!) and the mobility is terrific. Long hose, small low profile head, long rope. Oh, the cord still pops out of the socket... but at least not as often!

Still working after 13 years
I bought my Royal in 1996 and it is still working. A year ago I had to take it tothe vendor and have the bushings replaced in the motor as it was starting to make high-pitched noise. Charge about $30. Other than that, its been great for me.
Now here are the cons: My wife and daughters NEVER liked using it. Yours probably won't either. Why, because it is profound and not pretty or trendy. Exactly the reasons that I like it. They are right in one respect: it is noisier than most vacuums and has tendencies to squeak or shudder a little. So what?
The thing you can count on: it has lots of power to clean the carpet - the primary motive to buy the thing. And it will last for two reasons: it is simple with no doodads; and it its housing and motor are well-built.
My only real apprehension: my vacuum store guy tells me that the Royal company has been bought by Hoover and they don't really care to living expenses the Royal line much any more. For instance, I cannot get the micro-type bags for it any more - which I must have to reduce the dust blow-off! So look out if this matters to you.

Take it from a theatre cleaner - these vacuums are THE BEST!!!
I worked as a undertaking cleaner for several years prior to purchasing my own Royal Everlast. My boss and I tried almost every moderately-priced vacuum on the merchandise and, hands down, Royals are THE BEST. These vacuum cleaners are tough enough to hold up to the rigors of maintenance 5-6 large homes a day 5 days a week without losing suction or needing repairs. In truly, the only time we ever took our Royals in for service was when my boss forgot it was sitting behind her car and drove over it. These things are well-built enough that it just required a few replacement parts in the handle to complete the repair.
These vacuum cleaners are lighter and easier to manage than most others of comparable price. They are NOT quiet vacuum cleaners, so don't buy one expecting to be able to vacuum the indulge's room while they are napping. However, for the most cleaning power for the buck these things are absolutely top-notch. I will never, ever buy another identify or style of vacuum cleaner other than a Royal Everlast.
A few tips: if you want to get a major cleaning power assistance you can take your vacuum to a Royal-certified repair facility and they will upgrade the motor for a relatively small amount (from my remembrance I believe it costs less than $30, but that was several years ago). Also, a definite must is purchasing the attachment set (which allows you to vacuum intensely surfaces/furniture/stairs/etc). Take it from a house cleaner and THROW AWAY your broom and swiffer - the superlative and easiest way to get your hard surfaces clean is to vacuum them!

Fair Buy
I have had this vacuum for three years and no complaints. It is lacking attachments but I would rather have two vacuums then restore and clean out a plastic junkie bagless vacuums. My son has abused this vacuum to the fullest, and no problems. I went from a Kirby because I didn't have the legal tender to buy another one and I am very happy with the royal.

Honey it
We've owned this vacuum now for 5 years. I bought it b/c I was weird of buying "new plastic" vacuums every 18 months for $200. While this vacuum is expensive, it has never required fix up. If you buy it from a royal vacuum shop, you get 5 or 8 year factory warranty and the shops usually offer unhampered cleanings every 6 months.
I drop off a full dirty vacuum and it comes back with the bristles cleaned and a unorthodox bag and a tune up - free!
It's all metal - so no cheapie plastic parts breaking off.
AND - it's suction and maintenance is absolutely fantastic.

A vacuum built to last
I on loan this vacuum from the local repairman while he was servicing my royal power team canister vac. As uprights go, this one is the most qualified I have ever tried. It is solid, sturdy and powerful in brushing and dust collection. The stainless pilfer parts are top notch and unbeatable in terms of durability. Unlike some other uprights, (the made in china and taiwan models or the old kirbys) the power apex doesn't throw the dust everywhere and the bag and filter are engineered to keep the collected dust contained with littlest leakage.
If I had to use an upright...this would be the one. It will last forever and work like a champ!
Most importantly...this model had my overworn carpets looking like new in no together! I have a long haired kitty that sheds and sheds and sheds everywhere and picking up her dusty braids usually takes many many slow multi-angled sweeps with the other machines.

I charged the heavy thing into my car and also used it on the carpets at our very very dusty, over aged gym carpets. They too were renewed and looking additionally fresh after using this upright model!
I had this loaner vaccuum for several weeks while my ancient royal parts were being back-ordered. It was a bittersweet reunion with my cannister vac (purchased in 1995 and still race)as I had to return this upright to its esteemed service center. The owner and his assistant both were so happy to have thier royal upstanding back in their midst.
I must warn that there are no plastic gadgets and gizmos with this model...but I would trade a shipload of gizmos for this tendon machine any day!
