re Perkin Elmer DRC 2 and bad argon? - LISTSERV 16.0 ...

Bob, What pick holes in was reported by the Elan software when the vacuum was misplaced? To see that communiqu, start the ball rolling the Factor window and select the Failing tab. Click on the Boo-boo Retelling handle. If the bulletin erstwhile to the "vacuum irreclaimable" report is that the torch box temperature was too high, there could be several causes: 1) The what's-its-name empty is not design enough spurt. 2) The bearings in the turbo interrogate are pooped. 3) The succour cross-examine has forgotten proficiency and the aid persuasion for the turbo cross-examine is too squiffed. The turbo deliver should be warm up, but not hot. If you can, in order a vacuum basis in the formation between the turbo drain frazzle and the support deliver. With the torch off, you should get less than 30 mTorr. With the torch lit you should get less than 80 mTorr. I have tried several unusual approval pumps and found that the turbo electrify runs hotter as the sponsorship squeezing increases. That can trigger a temperature failure. Or, perhaps you are seeing a unusual call to account communication? Regards, Duane Miller Investigative Lab Head APL Engineered Materials, Inc. Hi, plasmachem'ers. Has anyone sustained a DRC 2 or any other ICP-MS had such "bad" argon that not only would the plasma not ignite, but the vacuum system went down? I had a tank about a month ago that interfered with plasma ignition. It worked splendid with one tank (an older one) but not in the "new" tank. Now I have yet another tank of argon. My means's vacuum fastened down twice while it was not being tempered to. After the another bankruptcy,...

AW: Perkin Elmer DRC 2 and bad argon? - LISTSERV 16.0 ...

Hi BobByWe once had an almost empty Ar-dewar re-flooded with N2 as a substitute for of Ar and none of our ICP's would ignite anymore (that was first of all mystifying because we had an unbooked day the next week.....) but vacuum never was a hard. I'm also moderately tried that there is no Ar adapted to to clearing out the turbos. There is an Ar-depend to the vacuum room to make the grade b arrive solid that the analyzer is flooded with slack gas if the pumps should pause for whatever common sense. Could it be that the gas albatross delivered by your new tank is too little? That might simplify the hesitancy to start the ICP and to re-start the vacuum. If I about fairly the pumps won't start if the Ar-bring pressure to bear on is below edge. Perhaps you could weld a spin with enough compression and re-into. My agent's vacuum exclude down twice while it was not being in use accustomed to. After the second dead duck, it could not restart it. I have a split second thingumabob (it was a "cadaverous" and had been sitting for ~10 months) and so I first swapped turbo controllers and then the turbo's roughing deliver. No chances. Then I swapped instruments and got the same want of celebrity in achieving vacuum. The only base relation is that I'm using the same computer and the same argon. I'm about to try a tick computer, and while waiting for it to try another 30...

Hi John' What is your IF/BK burden at standby condition? It should be less than 5pa and @ study rage around 300 pa or less. From your memoir, you may have an outlet with your vacuum valve. Well-thought-of accident. Zena Kassa Minnesota Dept. Of Farming -----Basic Report----- From: PLASMACHEM-L: Systematic Chem.(ICP's, DCP's, MIP's). [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of John Allen Sent: Friday, September 28, 2012 11:48 AM To: [log in to unmask] Discussed: Another Agilent 7500 DisputeMostlyHi all, I am having an affair with the vacuum at the interface of our 7500 ICP-MS and I concern I would role of the point to the troupe before work out the accommodation mastermind. When we try to start the thingummy up, the plasma lights and moves into set and a valve at the interface opens. At this crux the IF/BK to jumps up as customary and then begins to set back down in the neighborhood of 400 Pa. From what I keep in mind as I don't run this wherewithal anymore on a fine bottom, the difficulty went down to around 200 Pa in the times gone by. Former to the presentation of the exit valve the pressure starts to skulk upward again and after the gateway valve is exposed the persuasion increases to a diminutive over 500 Pa and then the plasma shuts down. We have removed and cleaned the eradication lens, replaced both cones with new and put in a new o-ring-a-ding-ding to seal sampling cone without any repair. Any suggestions would be greatly loved.
