    If local plumbing code permit, dishwasher drain hose may be connected directly to a waste tee. The waste tee connection must be made ahead of the trap and a minimum of 20 inches above the floor to prevent a back up. If drain hose connection is less than 20" above the floor, the hose must form a loop 20" above the floor. Make sure there are no kinks in the hose.

    I bought this dishwasher because it is rated an "energy star" and when you are on a well, water usage is utmost important.  This dishwasher gets dishes and pots and pans spotless using a variety of different types of detergent.  It has a feature that will heat the water hotter for a better wash, therefore letting me leave my hotwater heater set 120 and let the dishwasher "super heat" just the amount it needs to do the dishes and pans.  The only down side I can find to this unit for me is the 2 small liftout silverware/small item baskets.  They do not seem to hold a lot of tableware.  Most other dishwashers I have owned had much bigger tableware liftouts.  Not really a problem for me, as I am single, but for someone with a family it could be a bigger concern.  The other thing that is a kind of bugger feature is that most frypans do not fit easily in the bottom rack.  SO far the only one that will is the 8" fry pan.  Bigger than that and it affects the upper rack and the ease of pulling out.

     

    Unit is fairly quiet, even though I do not have mine built in as of yet-I still do not have my kitchen cabinets or countertop in yet and had to rig this unit up so I could stop doing dishes in my bathroom sink!

    Yes, this is a york and i condensor fan runs at 1/2 speed (the HO said that it quit in the middle of the night~. when i got there he had it off for a while and when i turned it on it ran slow and compressor was not runnin originally thought it was a cap. being that it was a 40 uhf +- 5 so i changed that and still the same problem i have current going to the fan a comp.. jus any more info would be goos thanks..

    Has anyone had any experience with Amana kitchen appliances?

    Q: I am doing a kitchen remodel and have found an Amana refrigerator I like. I'd like to purchase the same name brand for all the other appliances - range, dishwasher, and over-the-range microwave.
    Amana's prices seem reasonable, and their website is impressive. Does anyone know anything about Amana big kitchen appliances?

    A: Hi! I have an Amana fridge with water filter and ice maker. I LOVE IT!

    However, I chose to go with Jenn Air for my down-draft stove and Miele for my dishwasher so I can't be of much help to you there.

    That being said, I have had no problems whatsoever with my fridge or my dishwasher but have had a mishap with my stove (glass top broke when a jar fell on it - took me 8 months!!!! to get the replacement part.

    As for Miele dishwasher, I have NEVER in my life seen a dishwasher that makes so little noise and cleans so well. You might want to check that out:

    A: Most liquid detergents' main agent is silica (sand) The best solution I've found was switching to Cascade and adding Jet Dry. I've found that the cheaper the detergent, the more residue is left behind.
