GE washer loose basket? - Appliance Repair Forum
How do I diagnose if the bearings on the basket are bad? The basket makes all kinds of noise when spinning, running or not. The basket feels very loose. I can push the center of the basket and then spin it and it seems fine. I read somewhere else it could be the pulley in the back, but everything there it tight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Anyway to tighten it? I would hate to buy a new washer or spends tons of money on it. Its only 4 years old.

Kenmore dishwasher water backup - Appliance Repair Forum
If local plumbing code permit, dishwasher drain hose may be connected directly to a waste tee. The waste tee connection must be made ahead of the trap and a minimum of 20 inches above the floor to prevent a back up. If drain hose connection is less than 20" above the floor, the hose must form a loop 20" above the floor. Make sure there are no kinks in the hose.

Michael Russnow: My GE Dishwasher Tragedy, Manufacturer Parts, Car ...
I had some experiences recently I thought I'd share that may have happened to you. Experiences that cost time and money and seem designed to screw us, while perpetuating a steady flow of income for other parties. In the first case, before you remind me, I will readily admit I caused the problem. My objection is with the available solution that now confronts me.
I bought a General Electric portable dishwasher a number of years ago. It has worked fine, and I have no complaint with its operation. The problem is its design. In order to connect it to my sink, I have to fasten a unicouple -- a device that delivers water to and from the dishwasher -- to the faucet and over time it has become worn, making it a bit more difficult to disengage. After the last usage when I tried to take it off, the entire faucet adapter (which connects it with the faucet) came along with it. Try as I might to detach the unicouple, I couldn't get it to budge. I finally tapped it against the sink and, in the process, the unicouple broke.
Okay, it was my fault. However, instead of being able to replace a cheap plastic part that might have set me back a few bucks, I am stymied by the fact that the unicouple, designed by mega-corp GE, is attached to two hoses that extend well inside the machine.
Now it's a humongous job. The part alone costs over a hundred dollars, not to mention a repairman who would charge anywhere from $75-$100 an hour. A new machine costs about $450, so it'd be dumb to pay so much just to get my dishwasher repaired. However, the simple question is why wasn't the machine designed so that the unicouple might click in and out of the hoses or attach with common screws, enabling a simple and inexpensive replacement instead of combining all elements of the operation into one device? Not to mention the fact that the hoses go all the way inside the machine, requiring me to open the dishwasher up and figure out how to disconnect and reassemble the part.

question about general electric dishwashers?
Q: hey everyone
i have a question about my general electric dishwasher model 2800. today, after it said there was an error (which i had never seen before) there started to be this weird smelll in my kitchen. it smelled like a hot glue gun had been on too long and the glue was burning.
what could this smell be?
in general, do dishwashers have hydraulic fluids in them?
i ask because a few minutes after the smell started, i got tunnel vision in my left eye but it was temporary. i looked online and it says it can be caused by exposure to air contaminated with hydraulic fluids.
any thoughts?
A: No hydraulic fluids. There should be a paper hidden someplace with the error codes. Check this site for more info

do dishwashers have or use hydraulic fluids in them?
Q: do dishwashers use any hydraulic fluids?
my dishwasher is a general electric model 2800. its about 15 years old
i am asking because something weird happened with it today, and there was this weird smell in my kitchen after it happened. my kitchen smelled like a hot glue gun had been on for too long and the glue was burning. right after this, i got temprorary tunnel vision in my left eye, and after searching online i found out that it can be cause by exposure to air contaminated with hydraulic fluids.
A: The dishwasher might be coincidental... you described symptoms associated with stroke. I'd contact your family physician or nurse practitioner just to be safe. Web MD can advise you here also.
No hydraulic fluid in dishwashers, but I'll bet there are similar chemicals released by burned plastics and other materials found in dishwasher cabinets and their motors.
Nothing that I would expect to cause acute (immediate) health issues normally, but you may have a chemical sensitivity (known or unknown to you).
Have an appliance repairman check it out before you operate it again.
And, please, don't ignore your potentially serious medical symptom.
Regards!
Did you know that General Electric is having products manufactured in IRAN???????
Q: General Electric is having Iranian companies make some of their products in their shops. Did you know that LG is actually General Electric? Aka GE Corp. They are paying these bastards to, in effect, to kill our soldiers. That's right, Iran is training our enemies and actually has their soldiers fighting our men under disguise.
I do not and will not ever buy another LG / GE, product. Not a cell phone, dishwasher, refridgerator or nose hair clipper. They are trators.
A: yes. Did you know Iran was having products made in the USA.
Did you know 1000's of Americans by drugs made by the Taliban
