This is an okay ironing board, but it's no better than, and probably not as good as, the inexpensive one that I bought in a 5 & 10 store (remember those?) in 1972 when I moved out of the dormitory and into my first apartment. It seems as though ironing boards today are either very flimsy or very expensive. I bought this particular one because it didn't weigh a ton (I put it up and take it down frequently), didn't have wasted space to hold an expensive iron I don't own, and was a standard size (since apparently some of these pricey boards are impossible to buy replacement covers for). Those goals were all achieved. But it's less sturdy and less balanced on its feet than the dime-store, 36-year old one I'm getting rid of. Go figure.

After a couple of months, this thing started developing a downward dip right in the middle. Now it’s almost unusable, although I keep applying steam to it and trying to straighten it out. Also, the iron holder should be vertical, the way it is it just encourages water to run all over the table. By the way, I saw it for about half price at Big Lots, they also had full size ones, but I figured why buy one of those, just more to lug to the trash. This board is crap! I didn’t expect all that much for the money it cost, but it has shortcomings that make it unusable! First it came missing one of the rubber feet of two that keep it from sliding off of you table surface and also protecting it from being scratched. I tried to call customer service at all possible times of the day and always get forwarded to a voicemail box that is full. The board itself is not flat. Where the unsupported section is, it is warped down. Also–it didn’t occur to ……

I love this cordless iron. I never have to worry about the cord dragging around my clothes and wrinkling what I just ironed. No tangles and no hassles. I haven't had any problems with the heat retention of the iron and replacing it in the cradle whhen moving my garment around. The steam option also works great. This iron is attractive and easy to use and the carrying case is nice as well.

This replaced a decent (read expensive) Rowenta with a cord. My dog pulled the Rowenta off the ironing board by catching his foot or tail in the cord. The Rowenta lived and so did the dog, but out of concern for the safety of dog and home I immediately started shopping for a new iron--cordless being the first priority. Happily - I am able to announce that I am using it almost daily for quilting and weekly for the laundry/ironing tasks. It stays hot - good and hot. I have a Polder ironing board with a metal tray at the end for an iron to sit on. I place the base there and the board is free so I can iron with no trouble. I use the iron, put it back on the base, adjust whatever I am ironing and continue ironing in this manner. This keeps the iron hot all the time. It takes 10 minutes for the auto shut off and so as long as I am working steadily there is no problem. The Rowenta had an auto-off like most higher price irons and it was off every time I turned around. I hated that. I took the Panasonic Cordless to my quilting and sewing group meetings and everyone came running over to see it--it is really lovely. Some people oohed and aahhhed, and put it on their Christmas list, but some were quickly disinterested. We all have our own needs--and this iron suits me very well. Because of the cordless design, I don't mind ironing at all anymore.
