The J-4000DM is equipped with a 1 gallon self-contained water tank with preheat and steam settings and a 7 1/2 foot hose attachment for steaming draperies. The hose attachment has a metal steam head with a wood handle at the end of the hose. The J-4000DM is equipped with a sight gauge on the side of the steamer to view water level and sediment build-up at a glance. The J-4000DM heats up within 15 minutes to preheat temperature. Not only is steaming five times faster than ironing, it will not scorch even the most delicate fabrics. Safe for use on clothing, wallpaper, drapes, furniture and most any fabric to remove wrinkles quickly and easily. Compact, lightweight unit moves easily on casters, utilizes a 120 volt current, and has an unbreakable low profile easy to handle one gallon water reservoir. Over 1.5 hours of steam per filling. Uses a 1300 watt heating element, die cast in solid brass. Quick two minute heat up time. High impact plastic handle is attached to 5-1/2 foot flexible hose. Safety wiring feature temporarily turns the unit off when it runs dry. Moderate assembly required, assembly wrench is included. This sturdy, durable wand steamer presses wrinkles out of garments, drapes, and upholstery quicker and easier than an iron, and it doesn’t “shine” or scorch fabrics like an iron can. * Ordinary Recipes Made Gourmet *: Hot Water Cornbread the way my ...You might wonder who is "Groggy"? Well...she was my beloved Grandmother. She died 1 year before my mother did. Sad day for me - they were the two most influential women in my life. I called her Groggy because when I was very little I could never pronounce Grandma or Grandmother, the closest I got was "Grog Grog" - she loved it! As I got older, I added the "Y" and thus Groggy was born! It became her nickname in the family and no... she was never sleepy all the time! haa haaa! But this recipe is a tribute to her. The woman could cook! Before she became ill with Rhuematoid arthritis, she'd cook up a storm and all from scratch - no cans, no boxes! I got to live with her for about a year when I was in college right after high school. I'd sit in the kitchen with her and help her but mostly watch everything she did. One of her recipes she was famous in the family for was her Cornbread. She was born in Mississippi but lived in Gary, Indiana and she brought all her recipes from her childhood and taught a bunch to me. Unlike my mom, Groggy and I loved to cook, I remember those days we were in her little kitchen as she planned the meal and I helped prep all the veggies and followed her lead. Groggy was such a sweet lady, never complained of pain or hurt. She was also very funny and I remember so many times of her just talking and I was almost on floor in pain from laughing so hard. I thought of her as my Mommy #2 and told her so. She'd joke and tell me I could call her Mommy as well ! But when the arthritis got worse, she could no longer cook and so I took over for awhile when I lived there. Years later she developed cancer and passed away. Though she's gone, her spirit still lives in me and so do all my memories of her. Indirectly, this blog is also a dedication to her as well as my mother because she prayed for me, loved me and taught me all she knew. I even learned about my ethnicity from her. I never knew I was Native American, Caucasian and Black - my mother just never told... How do you cook Jiffy cornbread in a cast iron skillet? In the oven or on the stove?Q: Do I do anything diffrent than cooking it in a baking pan? A: If you have an iron skillet, you can use oil to grease it, and pour in Jiffy and bake. ( I use bacon grease ) If you have just a round or square pan, just grease well and pour in Jiffy.You follow directions on box. It is really good corn bread. Hope this will help. Happy Easting. God Bless. I have a cast iron corn stick pan. If I use boxed Jiffy mix, at what temp do I cook them and for how long?Q: A: Corn bread is twice as good in a cast iron pan. But for best results, preheat your oven to the temp indicated on the box, and bake the empty corn stick pan for 10 minutes. Then take the pan out and use a basting brush to brush olive or or vegetable oil into the the corn shaped wells. Then quickly pour your batter in while the pan is still piping hot. The batter should sizzle a bit when it hits the pan. By heating the pan first, it will not only help the corn bread release intact, but it will create a yummy, golden crust on the bread. Good luck! |
