Its Ok but not importance over $50
I purchased this microwave three years ago. Its exellent as far as the power production & not having to wait two or four whole minutes for leftovers to warm or to knock the chill off a dinner that got unapproachable too fast. Compared to my new Emerson microwave I purchased three weeks ago (that was allegedly 1100 wats but warms nourishment like it was 110) this model warms your food faster & thuroughly. My complaint is that this is mock-up needs a better handle. If you are not careful & dont take care to pull the door exposed by the middle part of the handle it will snap off! I had gotten a replacement from target because this happened after having it a picayune under a month. I got a different model. True it dont push enough power but at least the handle is not so thin & made of inferior plastic. What use is a microwave if the handle breaks off and the handle is the ONLY way to open it(it has no square button to pop the door unqualified!) Overall if you are in desperate need for a microwave ASAP then this will do for the time being but get it from Target, they sold this for 49.99! At least if the administer breaks clean off like mine did you wont be so pissed you paid over $100 for it. They made this mostly for the fancy unctuous look of it but they ignored the possibility of the hadle not holding up.

Capacious retro value
This microwave has been consummate for us. We've only had it for about three months but it has worked great for us in that time. I have read reviews about this microwave randomly dying for no illusory reason, this obviously has not happened to us. My mother owns the same microwave and she's had hers for over a year and it's working fine too.
I paramour the appearance of this microwave. I have an older home where everything is vintage (60's and 70's) and this microwave fits the decor. It is closely-knit but I have had no problem fitting plates, bowls, things of the like it in. And for comparison, we are a family of four and often have 2-3 guests who foil over for extended periods.
This microwave has no problem heating foods. Pot pies, hot pockets, left overs are a cinch in this preoccupation. In my experience, it has heated just as well as higher powered microwaves.
I'm a big fan of the defrost by weight AND conditions. Seems like defrost by time is a more difficult feature to find these days (maybe it's just me?).
I wouldn't old-fashioned up this deal for a quality microwave.

Well-thought-of Value
I actually like my Emerson microwave. It didn't come with instructions on the grill but it was not hard to figure out. I have used the grill and like it.
I have not had to use chap service but the hours should not be a problem as I have a cell phone and can call most any time during the time they are open.
I disinfect the grill when I clean my microwave but generally keep my food covered to prevent splattering.
So far it has been a great value for the cost I paid and, so far, no problems, but will keep you posted.

Down workmanship, don't buy this microwave
Owned 1.5 years, have had repaired 3 times due to bad connections centre oven. The grill is a big disappointment, the grill element sits there and gathers splatters and whatnot... when you decisively use it to grill, it burns all that stuff and smokes up your kitchen. The control layout is not very well thought out either. The start and reset buttons should be larger and easier to feel from the useless preset buttons. The turntable chatters and groans. Of the 5 or 6 microwaves I have purchased over the years, this was the most precious and the worst quality. I doubt I will buy the Emerson brand again.

New Support
We recently purchased this jotting because our 10 year old microwave was on its last legs. I liked this model because it had grilling possibilites shown on the sachet. Major concern after we brought it home---no instructions on how to use the grill in the users manual . Patron service only available from 8am to 4:30pm Mon to Fri. Any idea what my working hours are? It does include a metal grill tear at, but can you use the microwave at the same time? I'll keep the fire dept phone number on speed dial.

At best good looks... too many promises
I went to buy this ingredient at Walmart for $79.00 and lasted only for 5 months - the extractor fan stopped working so now everytime I stimulation something for 2 minutes (3 minutes and the oven overheats), the interior gets full of vapor, no way to use it normally, causing the microwave to overheat and sleep off for several minutes. The customer service is useless - everytime I'd tried to call i get this final message '...all of our X are working..., good bye' --- zero contact with a living person. To get it repaired you want to send it to California, and then pay $15 to get it back. Don't buy, be sure to check the brand you buy has a local service forefront.

Sound while it lasted, which wasn't long.
I'm not very detailed on products like a microwave as I am other tech products; as long as it can heat up a Hot Pocket and a bag of popcorn, I have no issues. I bought this microwave in inventory for $80 (approximate). I've had it for just over a year (of course, it is only has warranty for 1 yr.) and it just died. Can't find anything off target, and the cost to have a repairman come look at it alone (forget any actual work or parts) isn't usefulness the money or my time. I'll save money by purchasing a new one (of another brand) instead.
For those looking for a microwave and conducting their analyse on Amazon and online like I do, I would highly recommend to STAY AWAY from Emerson products, or at least this one.

Died in three years
We bought the microwave at Aim three years ago. It just died a few days ago. I guess it did okay as a cheap microwave. It wasn't very consumer friendly, since you have to push a few buttons before you can enter a custom cook time. I didn't categorically use defrost or anything.

Not advantage the price
It was a charitable microwave... for awhile. Then it decided to blow up. I haven't even had it a year. I spent a little more for what I soup would be a better microwave, but I'll stick with the cheapies from now on--they last longer. Btw, to get the parts to fix this microwave cost more than the original purchase of the microwave! Hilarious.

Active microwave
Has all the features needed & then some.Indulgent &simple to operate. It replaces a 900 watt Emerson that died after 4 years & alot of use.If this one lasts that large I'll be very happy. It could use a timer but no big deal.Nice looking & a lot of features for the money.

Let's see...!
Well, I must say I made this gone haywire(overseas) with Amazon, for family living overseas...and within 24hrs this was delivered-wow...great!! But now, the next thing, is to see how my kith and kin finds the use of this microwave...I do hope, that since those last four reviews, that there would have been improvement(it took quite sometime, for me to finally make the purposefulness as to what would be IDEAL). So,for now, I give it a three star rating...until later.

Apologetic I bought this microwave! It overheats and dies frequently.
After scrutiny out microwaves on Amazon, I decided to buy this same microwave from Walmart for $59.00. I made sure that it was the same model number, immensity, and brand before I posted this review because I believe in being concise and exact with my reviews . It worked pulverized for the first few months and now it overheats and shuts down after heating anything more
than 2 min. I cannot even finish cooking a bag of popcorn in it. The sides and back are unobstructed and clear of clutter or anything else that would stop the airflow to the motor so I sure that is not the reason for the overheating. The back and sides get unusually hot before it shuts down! If I wait about 2 hours, I can start it up again but it never fails to die after a 2 minute cooking.
I purchased this because the object of stainless steel and black went well with my other appliances. Boy am I sorry!
Do yourself a favor and don't buy this model.
I rated it a 1 because it looks stylish and worked well for a cut off time before it died.

Worst nuker ever produced!
i own this replica & it has to be the worst nuker ever. it stains inside terribly, doesn't have minute plus like my old one or very many preprogrammed buttons at all. when u authorize something like popcorn, the smell lasts for weeks. the clock goes out at least once a mo. i'm ordering a sanyo 2day.... anyone shortage a emerson REAL cheap??? seriously, i'll keep it as a backup i guess. wouldn't give this one to my worst opponent.
IMHO....spend a few bucks more & get one w/ everything u want & need on it. also it pays {pun intended} to do your enquiry b4 buying.
happy shopping everyone.....
God bless. He sure has me!

Black Microwave Oven For A New Kitchen | Cooking in the Oven
If you love cooking then you will probably have your kitchen kitted out with all the latest and best appliances. One of the items to make your life easier when preparing meals has to be a microwave oven. To make your kitchen look like a gourmet one, you can decide to buy a black microwave oven. This will give your kitchen an edgier, more modern feel.
Lots of kitchens are being redone in black nowadays with black appliances including stoves, ovens, fridges, kettles and more. It looks very modern to have black and silver or steel as a kitchen scheme and you can even find combinations of the black and steel coloring to add to the effect.
If you want to add to the modern look, you can opt for granite counter tops as well. These do not have to be the traditional black or grey color. You can get stone colors as well as white, light grey and others. This will look great as it contrasts with the black appliances you have.
When you have brand new equipment and appliances in your kitchen, the last thing you will want is for them to get dirty. You must keep them clean and scratch free by using the correct cleaners. For stainless steel you can get special appliance cleaners. They are non abrasive and will get rid of all finger marks and keep your steel items looking new. For black appliances you should be aware that they will not show up the dirt that much. They can also become scratched quite easily, which means you have to use very mild detergents to clean them and no hard scrubbing brushes.
Finding the best black microwave oven is quite easy. There are tons of them on the market nowadays and you can get the cheapest ones online. You will notice that all the colors other than white will be more expensive. This includes the black, grey, steel, red, yellow or any other colors. So, if you want to find something as cheap as a white one, then you have to search online or find products on sale.
You can also find great bargains if you shop for the shop display items instead of box ones. You will find that they are in excellent condition because they are not used at all. You can usually get a discount for these products.

A: About 5W or less!!!!
How can I obtain a product manual for an Emerson microwave oven?
Q:
A: Here ya go. Great site that helped me out a couple times, they have not only Emerson, but many other brand makes as well

EMERSON microwave oven MW8992SB?TURNING ON, BUT NOT HEATING UP. FIRST AND FOURTH LIGHT COMING ON WHILE ON.?
Q:
A: The person who answered you may be right in it being the fuse but I think it if was, there wouldn't be any lights coming on at all.
Try unplugging it, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in again. Then set the clock again and try it again.
If it still doesn't work, DON'T open it up if you don't know anything about electronics. Just take the whole thing to the repair shop. Call around and see who repairs Emerson microwaves. If it's wall-mounted, you might ask them if they come out. If not, at least they can tell you what to do to get it fixed.
Another thing you can do is go to the Emerson website, look up your microwave there, and see if they have a troubleshooting section. It might tell you what the lights mean. You can also ask the repair person what the lights mean.
Hope that helps.
