    Disposition I didn't buy it!
I have owned this oven for about 2 years now and I absolutely wish I purchased another. It does have it good points, but I find myself more frustrated with it as time goes on.
They put two bountiful burners in the front and two small in the back. Well, when I have two large pots going on the front it's almost impossible to reach over them and use the two smaller burners in the back. Mine is relevant to propane so I don't know if that makes a difference, but the flame adjustment is just terrible...they all seem to hankering to burn on high...even when I turn the knobs to the lowest settings it's still to high, and yet the center burner never seems to go to that considerable setting? The front right is a simmer burner, but when I lower it to simmer I get a black buildup of soot and it start to give off a propane scent so I can never seem to use it for simmering anything. The front left burner does do a great job of boiling water very fast though. If the oven is on the throw out fan will start blowing on the two burner on the right side and has blown them out on occasion, only the smell of gas alerted me to this. The blowing blaze makes simmering anything impossible....even if I could simmer!
I recently noticed my knobs are all wrinkled and dry underneath..never noticed it before, but the knobs do get hot when the oven is on. I have read other reviews about people having them dwindle, so my problem is probably also from the heat. I have just contacted GE about this so I'll let you know if their customer service will abide by resign behind their product or not. The knobs are really cheap for the high price of this stove.
I used to convection oven perchance 8 times and have since given up. It takes TWICE as long for anything to cook when I try and use it. I really wish they made an oven without the convection...I Non-Standard real didn't want it in the first place and had to pay hundreds extra for it because this was not an option.
I do love the look of this oven, the stove top grates and sharp and thick and I wanted the five burners, but I do not feel this oven lives up to the cost or high quality standards.
Stainless Brace knobs overheat drastically when using higher temps in oven for baking great periods of time or artisan breads
GE CAFE 30" stove. In a little while behind the top of oven door are air vents that vent lots of hot air onto stainless steel panel behind knobs, onto stainless inure knobs and top of panel directly above knobs. Knobs become extremely hot, enough so that I need to use a hot mat to control knobs when using the oven for scorching and I am using the top for cooking. To me the GE Cafe has a poorly designed feature that needs to be corrected....I'm troubled due to safety reasons for myself, my young grandchild and anyone that might be using my stove, ie. guest or other visiting m members. I called GE, they sent repairmen to check out my complaint. He called GE while here, they suggested removing oven entrance way, shoring up the door to make it tighter. I told them this wasn't where the problem is, the issue is with the oven vents that are blowing hot air unswervingly onto knobs and panel. This can't be good for wiring that controls the touch control panel, asset the safety issue that I'm most concerned about. I asked GE if this was going to be rectified, representive said NO.
Please take note of the fan fracas when oven above 375 deg
We have owned this all-gas assortment for a little over a year and all in all we are very happy with the way it cooks. I cook 5-6 nights a week for my missus and I so it gets used quite a bit. It does have some quirks that GE could do a better job engineering though.

    Pros:
    - The front burners are monstrous and can handle big pots with no problem.

    - The oven is large and the controls are straighforward. I love the temp enclosed cooking which shuts off the oven when the meat gets to the correct temp. No overdone roasts!

    - The closed entrance gas broiler feature is nice. The broiler works well.

    - The griddle is convenient and makes grilled cheese and pancakes etc. at the ready. Warm up is a little slow with the burner though.

    - The bottom oven is OK if you have a casserole in a pyrex dish or something else to pastry-cook/keep warm when the top oven is in use. It is slow to come up to temp. Be patient.

    - The cook top design is amicable with the area around the burners sunken. This makes spills easy to catch. I don't find cleaning a emotionally upset. I did scratch the front edge though with the heavy cast iron grates. Be careful. I think you'd find this with any stainless submission that has cast iron around it. The cast iron will win every time.

    Cons:
    - The burner controls are not linear. I have to visually see what the conflagration height is to adjust properly.

    - The fan in the back top of the range comes on when the oven temp gets to 375 deg. It's showy and blows directly into the flame on the back burner. I have to put a piece of metal in front of the outlet to divert the air when I am using all the burners and the fan comes on. Otherwise it makes the back burner almost inept. The fan really heats the kitchen up in the summer.

Overall I would buy this range again but only the dual fuel archetype. The electric oven will work just as well as the gas without the noisy fan that can affect the back burner.

    Magnificent Range for the Money
A anterior to reviewer gave this unit a marginal review because they were unhappy with the burner layout/functionality. Well, no index can be everything to everyone. If the majority of your personal cooking tasks involves soft boiling one little egg in a scarcely pan, than I can see that this range may not work for you. So I strongly recommend that if you are considering purchasing this range be sure to instruct yourself on this issue BEFORE you buy the unit. I own this range and LOVE it. I cook for a family of three and most of my pots are fairly beneficent and this range just works for me. With the continuous grate design, two high BTU burners, the griddle adscititious that comes with the range, the dual ovens (the main one being very large), convection, self-tidiness, etc, this range combines a phenomenal level of form and function for the money and I couldn't be happier with my hold.
    Asymmetrical range
We have had this stove for a unite of months and would like to return it. The range burners do not work well at all. The front burners only work well with 12" pots. The feverishness spreads way too far out All of our smaller pots get cooked on the sides, not heated underneath. Our largest pot has both handles cracking from the misdirected arousal. Our 80 year old Wedgewood did a better job.

The rear burners only seem to work well for slow simmering. Since the front burners are too big to flexuous-boil an egg, I tried the back burners. But they struggle to boil water, and take so long that the egg is hard boiled before the branch water reaches a boil.

So, if you want to torch huge pots of spaghetti and simmer the brass (after heating somewhere else) on the rear burners. This stove is for you. But if you have a more normal range of cooking chores. Look elsewhere. This stove does not have a hovering range of cooking settings.

The oven on the other hand, works great, especially compared to that 80 year old Wedgewood.

Kenmore dishwasher water backup - Appliance Repair Forum

If local plumbing code permit, dishwasher drain hose may be connected directly to a waste tee. The waste tee connection must be made ahead of the trap and a minimum of 20 inches above the floor to prevent a back up. If drain hose connection is less than 20" above the floor, the hose must form a loop 20" above the floor. Make sure there are no kinks in the hose.

General Electric GE JBS56DMWW Range Does anyone know if this model is any good?

Q: I need to replace my old Amana Electric range. And my research has got me stumped on the reviews for the GE model. We had a maytag prior and the panel fried out. So anyone who knows how this model runs or knows a site where i could check out the reviews on it great and thanx

A: Idelivered appliances for three years for lowes and what I found is that GE appliances suck. We would have to exchange alot of the new ones that were defective. The age of customers GE appliances that we hauled away were not that old. Whirlpool and maytag is the way to go.

Can anybody tell me a general price range for electric & water bills in a Southern California apartment?

Q: I just moved into a 1br apartment in Santa Clarita with my husband. I wanted to see if I could get an idea of how much my bills will cost. We are not home during the day, & we haven't run the air or heat, & have not used the dishwasher yet.

A: See whether your utility provider has a cost estimator (SDGE does) and you can get a guesstimate. Here in SoCal it really depends on what you are being charged per kilowatt hour and what the baseline is and how much you exceed that. As for the water, since the governator declared a state of water emergency, many cities and towns have instituted severe fines and lowered their tiered systems. In my city, everything above 3,000 gallons of water used during the billing cycle is subject to fine and much higher rates. If your water is supplied by the city, check that website to see what the tiers are.

Why General Electric is the most chosen to power most of the extended-range and long-range wide body airliners?

Q: Boeing 747-400ER, Boeing 767-400ER, Boeing 777-200LR and Boeing 777-300ER are powered only by GE and the 747-8 will also be powered by GE.

A: Your question sounds like an ad for GE. Do you work for them?

Many engine companies specialize in specific markets and in working with specific manufacturers. Boeing and GE clearly have a strong relationship. However, RR also provide some of the largest engines in the market and are the preferred choice of some of the world's most successful carriers (British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Qantas). US airlines are more likely to choose GE engines because GE is a US company. Also, as Boeing has become steadily less profitable over time, they are looking for partners to pick up part of the development cost of new aircraft. IAE, Pratt and Whitney and Rolls Royce are still somewhat shunned by Boeing for their historic ties to Airbus, McDonnel Douglas and Lockheed. However, on the occasions when Boeing dropped this prejudice, it produced some of their best results. The 757 still holds most performance records for a single-aisle twin with RR RB211 engines, but with alternate power, it could be a dog.

P&W now specialise in advanced turboprop engines and smaller jets (the kind you find on regional jets). RR have become the engine of choice for the upper end of the business jet market and continue to produce a higher end, more advanced product in other market sectors, IAE produce the most efficient engines for the single aisle mid-range aircraft market and the lighter wide-body market.

I think it's a case of horses-for-courses. I also am concerned that you have included in your example of 5 aircraft 2 which are not likely to be produced en masse any longer and one which may never come off the drawing board. If I were a GE investor, I think I'd be concerned they had all their eggs in a somewhat rickety basket.
