After reaching into my refrigerator and finding that some of my food was a little warm, I decided to turn up the cold air knobs. To my surprise a few hours later the food was not getting any colder. I then realized the food in my freezer was starting to thaw. I've wanted to get rid of my refrigerator for years, so I was very excited it finally kicked the bucket. However, I didn't realize how challenging it would be to find a new one. Here are a few tips that I learned before buying a refrigerator . Measure the area where you will place the refrigerator. Don't forget to measure the space under your overhead cabinets (if you need to) and also determine if there is enough room for the doors to swing open. If you are buying a refrigerator with an ice maker or water dispenser you'll need an electrical outlet and also plumbing. Other things to consider are whether the unit has adjustable shelving to accommodate high items, glass shelving to contain spills and if it is Energy Star qualified.
Good information but don't waste your time on a Samsung french door. The top shelf struggles to maintain 41-44 deg f when the set temp. is 36! Our milk was spoiling and no matter how low I set the temperature, it would not cool properly. I had two delivered and they were both the same. I finally took the GE profile and all is ok. Samsung clearly has a circulation and or a sensor problem.
