Frigidaire ice maker - Appliance Repair Forum
Im not getting water to the ice maker but I am getting water at the water dispenser in the door. I took the leads off the dual solenoid to the water dispenser and swapped them with the one going to the ice maker. I can get water flow to the ice maker then when I push the water despenser. So it would seem the solenoid opens this way. So why isnt it filling with water if the solenoid opens. It seems whatever tells the solenoid to the icemaker to open isnt talking to it.....any ideas?

Frigidaire side by side refrigerator freezer working refrigerator ...
I have a Frigidaire MRS26LGJ side by side refrigerator. The freezer side seems to be operating normally but the refrigerator side is not getting cold enough. I defrosted the coils in the back of the freezer last night as there was some blockage there in the compartment between the freezer and refrigerator. The fan is working properly in the back of the freezer as well. However, the refrigerator side still sill only get down to about 50 degrees. Checked again this evening. No ice build up. Still not cold on refrigerator side. Any help or ideas I could get for what may be causing this would be greatly appreciated. By the way, door seals are good also.

Service Update: Non-serviceable Frigidaire Refrigerators
Posted a heads-up in the Samurai Appliance Repair Forum . Friggidaire (not a typo) sent out a service bulletin recently on their furrin’-built, 12 c.f. refrigerators, model numbers FRT125GW and FRT125GWK. Usually, service bulletins explain how to repair a particularly weird problem with an appliance. In this case, the problem is repeated loss of cooling in the beer compartment. The repair procedure in this bulletin was simple: don’t bother. Yep, Friggidaire doesn’t want servicers going out on these boxes, not even to look at them, if the serial number is before RA91. They’re just going to arrange an exchange.
Seems the problem is that frost builds up in the air channel that supplies the beer compartment with cold air, eventually choking it off and causing the beer to get warm. That just ain’t raht! And Friggidaire has no fix for this problem!
So, if you have one of these bad boys that’s not under warranty and it’s not a typical defrost system problem , call Friggidaire (800-374-4432) with your model and serial number to arrange for an exchange.

Quality of Frigidaire or Hotpoint refrigerators?
Q: I am in the process of looking for a new refrigerator and noticed that those made by Frigidaire and Hotpoint are significantly less expensive than some other brands (Maytag, Whirlpool, etc) which have the same or similar features. I am looking at both side-by-side and top-mount refrigerators. Does anyone know what the quality of these two brands is? Are they worth buying?
A: I personally like Frigidaire. I have owned one of their refrigerators and stoves and had good luck with both. I had to move and lost them both and have Whirlpool now. I wish I still had my Frigidaire, seems like more thought went into the setup of the inside of frig (how everything fit inside), they were energy efficient too.
