Where is GE refrigerator freezer drain tube - Appliance Repair Forum

My side by side refrigerator/ freezer has an automatic icemaker and water dispenser. I have noticed a puddle of water under the freezer side and there is an accumulation of ice in the freezer bottom. I believe the drain tube may have a clog. Can you tell me where the drain tube empties out so that I may check for a clog. Any other suggestions would be welcome as i am trying to troubleshoot. The drain goes into a pan under the bottom. Normally it is not necessary to access the drain from the bottom just clean it out from the top. Remove all the ice then use a turkey baser to force hot water down the drain until water flows freely. You should see the drain hole in the back/bottom of the freezer once you remove all the ice. Hope this helps! Refrigerator repair guide

Refrigerator heater continue to burn out - Appliance Repair Forum

I have a GE Side-By-Side Refrigerator that was purchased about 3 years ago. The first year was having problem cooling and with frosted over it. We have a service repair guy came in and replaced the heater with the part # WR51X10053. But for the past three years we have replaced 3 of them. Today, it was the same thing and we replaced again but burnt out immediately.

ge water valve assembly questions - Appliance Repair Forum

We do not utilize a filter, have always just had the plug installed in its place. So I had the bright idea, that since we dont use the filter, why not just bypass the inlet solenoid and connect the supply water line from the wall directly to the after filter solenoid. After making the connections, I get a steady dribble of water from the door water without even pressing the button. By the way I did check the supply tube for freezing (it was clear) and the ice maker seems to function fine. If I fill the tray by hand it does everything its supposed to. When it cycles I get current through the wire to the solenoid so I dont think ther is any problem with the ice maker. I put 120v to the solenoid and nothing happened so unless Im missing something I think the problem is with the solenoid.

Are General Electric Refrigerators any good?

Q: I am trying to find specific info about the General Electric Energy Star 23.1 cu. ft. CleanSteel side by side fridge, but the only stuff I've found is support documents at the GE website.

Model # is GSL23WGS.

Is this a quality refrigerator, especially in terms of long term durability, energy efficiency, and low noise levels?

A: Best bet would be to run a search at Consumer Reports. They will give you the test results and an unbiased opinion.
