Q: Hello I wonder why companies like Panasonic or Haier produce refrigerators with 4 to 6! doors especially for the asian market? Do the people there seperate their food so neatly?
A: I don't get what the other guy is saying about raw stuff being the reason. Everything I buy and place in the fridge is also raw, but I don't need six doors on my fridge.
This is only a suggestion, but are the compartments different temperatures? Maybe different foods to be served at their optimum are considered better or worse in one or two degrees higher or lower than something else? This sounds too pedantic for most home cooks, but professional chefs or people who are really into their food may pay attention to these subtlies.
Alternatively it could be to do with the lack of space in some Asian kitchens. Instead of trying to move the chair when somebody is sitting on it in front of the fridge, maybe you can just open the top door and get what you need?
Alternatively it maybe the 'green' way of doing things like the 2nd answerer mentioned. However for this to work you would have to remember which compartment the stuff was in that you wanted. If you find out for sure, let us know.
