Water Filter for KitchenAid Refrigerator
I have "inherited" with the purchase of a house, a Kitchenaid refrigerator, model KSRS25QAWH01. It needs a water filter; there is none in place currently. On my other refrigerators the water filter is inside the unit, but this line is accessible only in the front of the unit behind the grille where the condenser coils are.
I do have literature for this model (guessing it is 15 years old) and it recommends a filter called a MICRON 5. When I google it, nothing comes up. Is there perhaps anyone out there who knows if I can put another filter on this model and if so which one? Thanks.

Incomplete cycle on Kitchen Aid Ice Maker - Appliance Repair Forum
I had a leaky ice maker so I called an appliance repair man to take a look. He just pulled it out and ordered a new one and replaced it for $389.00. I thought this was a lot of money for an ice maker. After he installed it, he forgot to put the arm back on, so he came and put that on. It didn't work so he came back 3 or 4 times and finally got it going almost 2 months later (whole nother story). Now, it does make ice but when it goes through the cycle, the arm does not come all the way back down so it thinks the bin is full and won't make any more ice. If I manually move the arm down, it will kick the ice out and go through the cycle and stall in the same position. The ice man won't return my calls (he actually told me not to call him if I have any more problems with this) so I thought I would try to see if there is a way to adjust the cycle on this so that the arm will go all the way down. <title>Kitchen Aid Refrigerator Warm Between Doors
The strip between the sections of a refrigerator is called the mullion. It is simply a divider that separates the cold fresh food section from the colder freezer section. But if you go and check the mullion of your own refrigerator, you may notice that it is warmer than the rest of the cabinet. The reason for this is part of the refrigeration system is routed just behind this strip to help keep it slightly warmer than the ambient room temperature. This helps prevent condensation from forming between these two cool zones. The refrigeration system works to remove heat from the inside of the cabinet and moves it to the outside where it can dissipate into the room. This is why you will feel warm air blowing out the back or bottom of your refrigerator when it is running. Much of the heat of removed by the condenser coils in this way through the assistance of a cooling fan. But if this fan were to fail, or the airflow blocked due to lint or debris buildup around the condenser, not all the heat will be removed resulting in some of it remaining inside the sealed system. The sealed system runs from the condenser to the area behind the mullion strip, so any excess heat that is not removed will be felt right there between the doors. Bult in refrigerators are often times a little different than their freestanding counterparts in that the system components are moved to the area above the unit allowing for more space down low for storage. Using a ladder, I removed the grill covering the system to have a look at the condenser coil package. It was no dirtier than expected, but the thing I did notice was how quiet it was while running. A few other screws removed gave me access to the condenser fan and compressor and here is where I found the fan wasn't moving at all. I check with my multimeter found 120 volts AC at the connector which means this fan motor has failed.

Side by side kitchenaid refrigerator water spots on back wall of freezer?
Q: We just got a new side by side Kitchenaid refrigerator installed yesterday (stainless steel). This morning I noticed frozen water drops on the back wall of the freezer. Is this normal? There was also a little ice on the drain pan area. I think it may be because of the self defrost but am not sure. Is anybody? Thanks!
A: No offense to Deborah, but there is no way to adjust the water pressure neither coming into the fridge, nor after it passes the solenoid. And there is no float whatsoever to adjust on a refrigerator, only in a toilet tank as far as I know, but I just fix refrigerators.
She does however offer some really good advice.
Read your owners manual.
There will likely be a troubleshooting section, or at the very least, things you may see/hear on your new unit.
You didnt mention if you even have a water line hookup for the ice maker / water dispenser, if so, is the ice maker making good semi circles of cubes? try and listen for when the cubes fall in the bucket, for the water will fill the icemaker shortly thereafter. does it splash? chances are the ¾" fat fill tube is too far into the fill cup, push it about ¼" towards the back wall.
how are the temperatures throughout the unit? top to bottom?
you should be 0-10ºF in freezer, 36-40º in fridge, at normal settings, which would be in the middle of each dial or control.
One thing that does cause frozen condensation, or as you described it frozen drops, on the freezer wall is a bad evaporator fan motor, or freezer fan. If this is the case, your icemaker wont make ice cuz its warm at top of unit, and things will be colder at the bottom of the unit, including the water tank for water dispenser, so it wont work either.
as far as the ice in your drain pan area, if it is indeed the drain pan you are referring, should not have ice, though a little may be possible, for that water should ALL go down the drain, if after one day you have some, that will only likely buildup more over time.
It cant be clogged with anything, you've only had it one day. You would have more frost in the first 24 hours, since you are starting from room temperature. therefore you would have more defrost water draining.
Before you start panicking, put some milk jugs nearly filled with water, allow room for ice to expand. put some in fridge and freezer, to add bulk, check temps and icemaker function after 24 hours. please note, bucket will likely not fill completely in 24 hours, they take up to a week depending on model.
kitchenaid refrigerator not cooling the top fridge but freezer works fine ?
Q: my kitchenaid fridge is not cooling but the freezer works with no problems. my model is kbfa25erss01. what could the cause be? a tech came out and quoted me to replace the evap fan motor but the fan is working just find. i am clueless.
A: Just last week I had the same model number as you with the same problem. Once I removed the back cover of the freezer section the fan was not turning. However, I did manually spin it and it started to work. But once I stopped the fan it would not start again. I have changed more evap motors in these models than I can count. It can be a hit and miss with these models. The nice thing is that kitchenaid has put out a revised fan and I never have had to go back out once I changed the motor. On a rare occasion your damper might not be opening. To check the damper, open the freezer and hold down the light switch. Now, just hold your hand by the grill on the back wall of the freezer by the top. If you feel cold air blowing out then your evap fan is running properly. Now, close the freezer and open one side of your ref. Again, hold down the light switch and hold your hand by the grill on the back wall by the top. If you don't feel any air coming out then your damper is the problem.
Why has my KitchenAid refrigerator/freezer stopped making ice?
Q: I have a side by side model # KSRS25ILSS03. The water dispenser works fine. There is no ice or water in the tray. The switch is in the "on" position. Freezer temp is set to zero. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks
