I have heard a lot of bad things about Euro Pro since buying one in 2001. None of it seems to be justified. The manufacturer claims that it sews through 8 layers of denim. (I just read a review on the computerized machine saying that it probably couldn’t sew through that much, btw.) I can affirm that it does not just sew through 8 layers of denim. It can sew through 12. I use mine all the time to make corsets and other things that my local Viking Husqvarna dealer says I can’t use a Euro Pro for. I have never had a moment’s trouble with its strength or durability. The only problem I do ever have with the machine is the fact that the tension can be finicky. Oh, and the noise it makes when the motor is clean and functioning is bad to listen to, but is indicative only of a high rpm motor. When it starts to make more reassuring motor noises–clunks instead of whirs, it needs to be cleaned and oiled.
I think if you are used to older machines, then Euro Pro takes some getting used to. I think most of the Euro Pro reviews on Amazon were written either by new sewers (who universally like it) or people used to the 1960s style machines (which are, admittedly, more reassuring looking and feeling if you are the kind of person who likes your equipment bulky).

A: lightweight mass produced machine. Brother is better and affordable. Brother has a model at WalMart for under $200 that is computerized with 50+ stitches and buttonhole technology and comes with a walking foot for quilting.
I have owned several Euro-pro products and found them unwilling to backup their warranties. Their steam machine, and an iron and a hair dryer all died miserably, under warranty and without response or respect from the maker. Apparently they sell their extended warranty insurance through another company that answers to no one. I paid $100 for two years of money back or full replacement warranty onthe steam cleaner.
I hjate to be so negative, but that is my experince.

Im having sewing problems. I got a brand new Euro Pro sewing machine as a gift and I wanna start sewing. The problem is that I already plugged in the pedal so I can step on it and sew but when I do press on the pedal the needle wont move. I dont know how to use it yet but I looked on the Manual and it doesnt say anything has to be adjusted or put in to make the needle move. Am I supposed to do something other then press the pedal in order to make the needle go up and down???? I reallly need you help guys!! thanks so much in advance.
A: Read your manual,, but if you look on the right end of your machince where the round thingy is. Try turning the knob in the middle to tighten it. You release this knob to load the bobbin on most sewing machines. It may be loose and just needs tightening.
Sewing Needles For Euro Pro Machine?
Q: I bought my Euro Pro Sewing machine at Wal-Mart 4 years ago. Wal-Mart don't sell machines anymore and don't carry the needles. Anyone know from experience if the Singer needles are compatible to this machine? I looked at the Singer needles at a store today, and they look similar.
A: Every home sewing machine in the last 40 years has used the same needle system, variously called 130/705H, Singer 2022 or 15x1. Yes, Singer needles will fit.
However, I don't find the quality of the Singer branded needles as good as Schmetz, Klasse, Organ, Groz-Beckert, Lammertz and some others.
Make sure you're not buying serger needles, though. They'll have numbers like Elx something, JLX something, DB something, Singer 2054 or 2045, etc. Serger needles in your machine (with the possible exception of ELx) will make you think your machine is out of time or broken.
